Event Details

Join the Wokai – San Francisco chapter and Bay Area supporters in our year-end holiday celebration to learn about the developing story of microfinance in China from Wokai CEO and co-founder Casey Wilson! Ms. Wilson will discuss the meaning of microfinance in China, what it means to fundraise in China, and the impact of Wokai in China. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion and networking session. Light appetizers and drinks will be provided.

We will also be showcasing and selling pieces from Wokai's global photo gallery, an illustrative exhibition of Wokai's work in the field.

About Casey Wilson

Casey Wilson is the co-founder and CEO of Wokai, a microfinance organization focused on China. Casey Wilson is the co-founder and CEO of Wokai with a passion for helping to develop and share the story of microfinance in China.   Casey leads Wokai's business strategy and development, directing the organization's strategic efforts in due-diligence evaluation and public outreach.  Under her leadership, Wokai has raised more than half a million dollars in loan capital for China's rural poor.  Casey graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan  University with a B.A. in economics, focusing on economic development and its applications in the Chinese context. In recognition of her work with Wokai, Casey was recognized as the "Most Influential Foreigner in China" by China Newsweek in 2010, the "Most Innovative Entrepreneur" by China Entrepreneurs in 2010, and one of the "Top 100 Young Social Entrepreneurs in Asia" by Foundation for Youth Social Entrepreneurship (FYSE) in 2009.
